Abington High School Under Investigation After Raheem Grange Allen Allegedly Sexually Assaulted Student

PA Man Arrested for Sexually Assaulting Abington High School Student on Campus

A 25-year-old man is facing multiple rape and sexual assault charges after allegedly assaulting a teenage student at Abington High School, prompting the district's superintendent to announce a sweeping review of school security protocols at a board meeting Tuesday night. Abington High School Student Sexually Assaulted by 25-Year-Old Man Who Gained Access to Campus.

Man Gains Entrance to School Allegedly Attempting to Sexually Assault Student

Raheem Grange Allen, 25, was arrested on June 18, 2026, and charged with rape, statutory sexual assault, and several related offenses. According to investigators, Allen sexually assaulted a teenage girl who attends Abington High School.

Police records indicate Allen allegedly attempted to have sex with the victim at her home. Additionally, records state the student allowed Allen inside the high school on multiple occasions, where police allege he attempted to sexually assault her on at least one occasion in March 2026.

Allen is currently being held on a $250,000 bond. Court records do not list an attorney representing him, and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 2.

School's Response to Security Breach at Abington High School

At the opening of a school board meeting Tuesday night, Superintendent Dr. Jeffrey Fecher acknowledged that serious questions remain unanswered about how Allen was able to enter the building and how he first came into contact with the student.

"There are numerous unresolved questions about this man's presence in the high school, as well as, where and when he initially encountered the victim," Fecher said. "We are launching a third-party internal investigation and are working with police to gain additional information."

Fecher added that the district is taking immediate steps to assess its vulnerabilities. "We are reviewing all of our security protocols and procedures, and will be working with the Montgomery County Department of School Safety to determine whether additional security measures can be put in place," he said.

Investigation Continues After Alleged Sexual Assault of Student

Detectives are actively continuing their investigation into this case. Anyone with information about Grange Allen, or anyone who believes they may have been victimized by him, is urged to contact Detective Jeff Anderson directly at 267-536-1118 or by email at janderson@abingtonpa.gov.

When a Student Is Sexually Assaulted at School

When a child is sexually assaulted at school, the aftermath can feel overwhelming for the entire family. Between cooperating with law enforcement, supporting their child through trauma, and confronting a school district that may have failed in its duty to protect students, parents are often left asking one question: What can we actually do about this? To help families understand where they stand legally, we spoke with Pennsylvania sexual abuse attorney Ashley DiLiberto, who breaks down the civil legal options available to survivors and their families — and what it means when a school's security failures contribute to a student being harmed on campus.

Q: When a student is sexually assaulted on school grounds, what legal options does the family have?

A: Families may have grounds for both a criminal case and a separate civil lawsuit. On the civil side, a family can file a personal injury claim against the perpetrator directly. But depending on the circumstances, they may also have a viable claim against the school district if negligence played a role in allowing the assault to occur. These are two distinct legal paths, and families do not have to choose one over the other.

Q: How does school negligence factor into a sexual assault case?

A: School districts have a legal duty to maintain a safe environment for their students. When a school fails to properly screen who enters the building, enforce visitor policies, or monitor campus access, and a student is harmed as a result, that failure can constitute negligence. The question courts often examine is whether the school knew or reasonably should have known that a threat existed and failed to act on it.

Q: What does a family need to prove in a negligence claim against a school district?

A: Generally speaking, a family needs to establish four things: that the school owed a duty of care to the student, that the school breached that duty, that the breach directly caused harm, and that the student suffered damages as a result. Evidence like visitor logs, security camera footage, staff testimony, and written security policies can all become very important in building that case.

Q: Are there time limits families should be aware of when considering legal action in Pennsylvania?

A: Yes, and this is something families need to take seriously from the start. Pennsylvania has a statute of limitations that governs how long a victim has to file a civil claim. There are also specific notice requirements when a claim involves a government entity like a public school district, and missing those deadlines can bar a family from recovery entirely. Speaking with an attorney as early as possible protects those rights.

Q: What would you say to a family navigating this kind of situation right now?

A: The most important thing I can tell any family in this position is that they are not alone, and they have rights. What happened to their child was not their fault, and the law exists to hold responsible parties accountable. Consulting with an attorney who handles sexual abuse cases does not commit a family to anything — it simply gives them the information they need to make informed decisions about their next steps.
