A disturbing case has once again shaken Pennsylvania as Kevin Bader, 36, of Elkins Park, was arrested on July 10, 2025, and charged with sexual abuse of children – child pornography. The case marks yet another offense from a man previously convicted under Megan’s Law for similar crimes nearly a decade ago.
According to authorities, Bader was already on the radar of law enforcement after a 2016 conviction related to child pornography. As part of his post-conviction requirements under Megan’s Law, he was obligated to report all electronic devices and internet usage to authorities. However, he failed to report the use of specific digital devices, prompting a renewed investigation.
The latest arrest was triggered by a tip received via Snapchat, according to Lt. Kevin Magee of the Abington Township Police Department. Officers tracked the account to an email address tied to Bader—one that he did not report to authorities as required.
Following his arrest, police seized multiple devices, including a smartphone, tablet, and USB drives. Upon forensic examination, investigators uncovered thousands of child sexual abuse images and videos, some involving infants and prepubescent girls.
“This individual thought he could fly under the radar, but that wasn’t the case,” Lt. Magee said in a public statement. “It’s a terrible situation. An ugly crime against children.”
Bader was previously convicted in 2016 for child pornography charges and is categorized under Megan’s Law, which is intended to monitor and restrict individuals convicted of sexually based offenses. Despite this legal framework, Bader was able to reoffend, leading to significant public concern about gaps in monitoring procedures for known predators.
Lt. Magee emphasized the need for public vigilance, especially when it comes to protecting children from digital predators. “There’s always somebody out there watching, but we also ask families to be alert,” he said.
As of this writing, Bader is being held at Montgomery County Prison and is awaiting a preliminary hearing. Authorities are encouraging the public to come forward with any relevant information or contact they may have had with him.
“If people in the public have had contact with him, have any information in regards to any activities he’s engaged in, they should reach out to us,” said Lt. Magee. The Abington Township Police Department can be contacted at 267-536-1100.
