Muskogee County Couple Faces Sexual Abuse Charges After 11-Year-Old Gives Birth at Home

DNA Confirms Father of Child; Prosecutors File Additional Charges of Sexual Abuse and Neglect

A horrifying case out of Muskogee County, Oklahoma, has taken an even more disturbing turn. A couple previously charged with child neglect after an 11-year-old girl gave birth without medical assistance at home now faces new charges of sexual abuse and enabling abuse, as prosecutors uncover the full extent of the trauma endured by the young victim.

Dustin Walker is now formally charged with sexual abuse of a minor, and his partner, Cherie Walker, is charged with enabling child sexual abuse. These new charges follow a DNA test confirming Dustin Walker as the biological father of the child — a revelation that has shocked the community and intensified the legal response.

Child Was Denied Basic Medical Care Before and After Traumatic Birth

The initial child neglect charges stemmed from the fact that the 11-year-old had not seen a doctor in over a year and was forced to give birth at home without any medical support. Prosecutors have since added further counts of child neglect, including charges related to the neglect of the victim’s siblings, who also lived in the household.

Assistant District Attorney Janet Hutson described the situation as a catastrophic failure to protect a vulnerable child. “This child is traumatized,” she stated. “She’s been through a horrific ordeal. Not only has somebody gotten her pregnant, but she gave birth at home without medical assistance — and this will be her life for the rest of her life.”

Homeschooling and Isolation Delayed Intervention

According to the Muskogee County DA's office, the pregnancy went undetected for months due to the child being kept out of school and receiving no regular medical care. “Typically, we rely on doctors, nurses, or teachers to notice and report signs of abuse or pregnancy,” Hutson explained. “But in this case, the system had no access.”

This lack of oversight — combined with deliberate concealment by the caretakers — may have allowed the abuse to continue undetected. The child’s small stature was used as an excuse by the couple to claim they were unaware she was pregnant, despite the newborn being of normal size, further casting doubt on their narrative.

Urgent Call to Action from Prosecutors

Authorities in Muskogee County are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicions of child abuse or neglect to law enforcement, the Department of Human Services, or the local District Attorney’s office. The case remains under investigation, and additional charges are expected to be filed in the coming weeks.

The couple is currently held in custody on $100,000 bond each, with officials indicating that more details will emerge as they continue to investigate the home environment and the well-being of the other children involved.
